Today I share, behind the scene process of Sofia's shop
The moment I stumbled across her shop, I knew I had to ask her all about the process and her inspiration. Her work is the most unique and very fascinating at the same time, each piece has this charm, that you instantly want to know more about it!

( I fell in love with this one, the moment I saw it )

-What is your favourite part of creating unique ceramic-ware?

S: Since i work mostly with slipcasting, model and mold making consumes a lot of time before the first piece is made, so when i finally cast the first piece in clay, that moment can be a joy by itself because all the expectations I have.

-- Have you always wanted to do that? To Work with clay?

S: Yes, have been always attracted by ceramics.

- Which is your personal favourite of them?

S: I love functional ceramics, specially when the cultural context has influenced them

- How does your normal working day looks like?

S: I usually work as a product designer during the day, so I spend my spare time to work in the studio, plus I teach ceramics in the university.

DIY: Flower Haircomb

I love the idea of fresh flower crown, in beautiful wavy hair, but that's not always possible...so the next best option DIY flower crown!!

But today its a lil scaled version Flower comb, which is just as pretty!!

What you need
- flowers ( fabric or anyother kind you like)
- leaves ( I used fabric ones)
- Haircomb
- glue ( I used glue gun) but fabric glue will work just as good

- Arrange the way you wana glue your leaves and flowers

- Glue the leaves first, (I tried the comb after that, to see if it fits fine)

- Stick the rest of the elements and Voila!! (yes, its that easy!)

White and Crackle!!

I hopped on the crackle wagon a little late....but it seems it takes some time to get used to it.
The one I used is very subtle...and I like the effect that way.
Will try a darker base next time....for more exaggerated crackles!!

Etsy Feature: AldariArt

Beautiful prints, lovely quotes, bright hues....that is what you find at AldariArt

Perfect for cheering up the little cozy area of your office or home.

Today.....Alejandra shares her passion and love....for print :)

-What is your favourite part of designing art prints?

A: The color combination part. I am Mexican and can't live without bright colors.

- Have you always wanted to do that?

A: I've always loved visual arts. I have been painting since I was young and later earned a degree in Graphic Design. I never imagined being a small business owner, it just happened. In 2009, when I got married and moved to Canada while waiting for my work permit and residency status, I had the time and freedom to create digital art which is how my business started.
I love to create colourful prints for people to decorate their home with.

- Which is your personal favourite design?

A: My nature prints which were created from my original photography.
- How does your normal working day looks like?

A: Each day is different but a typical day work starts at 7:30am, check sales and e-mails for custom requests, create something new everyday, study and keep up with the trends and colours, two days a week I print, pack and ship, go for a walk for inspiration and to take photos, and also sneak in some delicious food and maybe a fun dance class at the gym! My day typical finishes between 7-9pm. I do this 5 days a week, and put in a couple hours on Saturday, and sometimes Sunday.

- What is your most memorable moment, when opening a shop on Etsy?

A: The first item I ever posted for sale was a photo of a Koi fish and it sold within a few hours. However, being featured in magazines is always a treat!
